Long at Mark Morris, 6:45 pm on 101.5 FM The Wave. Last night Fort beat Kelso 64-55…..In girls play, Kelso hosts Prairie tonight, KLOG 6:55 pm. The big game last night saw Toutle Lake down Wahkiakum 49-45…..The RAL wrestling team defeated Hudson’s Bay 57-21 last night…..Marcus Mariota confirmed he will be available for the NFL Draft…..WSU has hired Missouri DB’s coach Alex Grinch as the Cougars defensive coordinator…..Longview’s Rick Sweet is named the manager of the Brewers AAA team in Colorado Springs.

The Kelso Lassies pounded Fort Vancouver 67-33 last night as Loryn Musgrove led the way with 23 points. Kourtney Eaton scored 24 and Ashley Coons had 23 as Mark Morris beat Washougal 62-40. Woodland took care of the RAL Jills 51-14…..Tonight the Kelso Hilanders will play at Fort in boys hoops…..The Portland Trail Blazers host the Los Angeles Clippers tonight, KLOG 6:35 pm…..The LCC basketball teams have the night off tonight…..Kelso defeated Columbia River 48-31 in wrestling action last night. The Scots host the Kelso Invite on Saturday. Tonight in wrestling, RAL is at Hudson’s Bay and MM is at Washougal…..In girls bowling, Kelso is at Prairie, Mark Morris at Columbia River and R.A. Long at Skyview.

The Ohio State Buckeyes used a pounding ground game and physical defense to beat the Oregon Ducks 42-20 in the College Football Playoff National Championship…..It was a blowout and a nail-biter in last night’s LCC twinbill at Green River. The Red Devil women beat the Gators 80-33, while Jeremy Burright’s lay-in with five second left gave the LCC men a 77-76 victory…..The R.A. Long boys got a much needed 40-36 win over Woodland last night. Mark Morris is 5-0 in league after a 61-42 win over Washougal…..In girls play tonight, Kelso is at Fort Vancouver (KLOG 6:55 pm), Mark Morris is at Washougal and R.A. Long visits Woodland…..The Kelso wrestling team will be on the home mats tonight as they take on Columbia River at 6 pm.

The Packers beat the Cowboys Sunday…..Damian Lillard scored 17 of his 34 points in the 4th quarter as the Blazers beat the Lakers 106-94 last night…..Oregon State pulled off a big upset in men’s college hoops, downing #6 Arizona 58-56…..Coming off a sweep over Clark on Saturday, the LCC basketball teams will be at Green River tonight, women at 6 pm and the men at 8 pm…..In boys hoops tonight, R.A. Long is at home against Woodland and Mark Morris hosts Washougal, FM 101.5 The Wave at 6:45 pm.

Clark visits the Red Devils at the MM Gym with the women at 1 pm and the men at 3 pm…..In boys hoops last night, Ridgefield held off R.A. Long 51-49. Tonight, Kelso visits Tumwater (KLOG 7:25 pm) and Newington, Australia is at MM…..The Kelso Lassies defeated Tumwater 43-30 last night. Tonight, RAL is at home against Ridgefield…..It’s one of the largest girls wrestling tournaments in the northwest, the Kelso Invitational beginning tonight at 6 pm and running all day Saturday…..The Mariners Caravan is today at the LCC Health & Science building beginning at 4:15 pm. Also, Saturday Kelso native Trevor May will have a free autograph session at 1 pm at the Pacific Barber Shop.

The LCC women’s basketball team defeated Highline 69-57 last night. Kaylea Knox had 24 and Amanda Britt 18. The Highline men defeated LCC 87-64. Both team host Clark Saturday at MM with new start times of 1 pm and 3 pm…..The Blazers host the Miami Heat tonight at the Moda Center, KLOG 6:35 pm…..Oregon State is at home against ASU tonight, while the Oregon Ducks host Arizona. Also, Gonzaga hosts San Francisco tonight…..In boys hoops tonight, R.A. Long travels to Ridgefield…..The Kelso Lassies are at home tonight against Tumwater…..Mark Morris hosts wrestling action tonight against RAL, Hudson’s Bay and Hockinson…..In Boys swimming today, Kelso hosts Battle Ground and Camas at Gaither Pool while MM and RAL host four Vancouver schools at Dick Mealy Pool.

Randy Johnson is in, Edgar Martinez is still out. Johnson led a class of four players that will go into the Baseball Hall of Fame this summer. Martinez fell well short of enshrinement…..The Lower Columbia College basketball teams host Highline tonight at the MM Gym, women at 6 pm and the men at 8 pm, both on KLOG…..In girls hoops last night, W.F. West downed Kelso 59-44, Mark Morris blasted Ridgefield 69-28 and R.A. Long over Hudson’s Bay 54-22…..In boys basketball, Kelso defeated W.F. West 63-38, MM over Ridgefield 86-51 and RAL took care of Hudson’s Bay 50-43…..RAL defeated MM 1,966 to 1,665 in the Civil War bowling match yesterday. Elise Yates had a 416 series for the Jills. Also, Fort defeated Kelso 2,017 to 1,929.

Tonight, Kelso hosts W.F. West (KLOG 6:55 pm), MM is at Ridgefield and R.A. Long is at home against Hudson’s Bay…..In girls basketball tonight, Kelso is at W.F. West, Ridgefield at MM (101.5 FM The Wave) and RAL travels to Hudson’s Bay…..In Civil War girls bowling, MM and RAL meet in a 3:30 pm match at the Triangle Bowl. Kelso and Fort also roll at the Triangle…..Husky linebacker Shaq Thompson will forgo his senior season to enter the NFL Draft…..Local product Jason Schmidt was on the Hall of Fame ballot for his fine MLB career.

The Seahawks found out their playoff opponent when the Cowboys rallied to beat the Lions 24-20 yesterday. The Seahawks host the Carolina Panthers this Saturday at 5:15 pm. Also yesterday, the Colts beat the Bengals 26-10 to advance in the AFC playoffs against Denver…..The Blazers host the Los Angeles Lakers tonight, KLOG 6:05 pm. The Lakers announced yesterday that Kobe Bryant will not play in order to rest…..Both LCC teams won games at S. Puget Sound Saturday in the league openers. The Devils host Highline Wednesday, women at 6 pm and men at 8 pm…..The Huskies lost to Stanford 68-60 in OT last night,. The WSU Cougs beat Cal 69-66……It’s a “Red Out” tonight as the MM boys host Hockinson at 7 pm in support of Spencer’s Heartstrong Foundation.

The Oregon Ducks beat Florida State 59-20 in the Rose Bowl setting up a national championship matchup with Ohio State. The Buckeyes upset Alabama 42-35 in the Sugar Bowl. The championship game in Dallas will take place Monday January 12th…..The Huskies take on Oklahoma State in the Cactus Bowl tonight, KLOG 7:00 pm…..The UW men’s basketball team opens up Pac-12 play tonight at California…..The LCC basketball teams open West Region play tomorrow at South Puget Sound in Olympia, women at 3 pm and men at 5 pm…..The R.A. Long boys basketball team has a road game at Mountain View tonight at 7 pm…..The Seahawks will learn their first playoff opponent after this weekend’s wild card games.
