The Mariners and Yankees begin a three game set in the Bronx today, KLOG 3:00 pm…..The LCC baseball teams hosts Pierce in a 1 pm double header tomorrow at Story Field…..A 10-year anniversary celebration of Rister Stadium is tomorrow at 10 am featuring all kinds of activities for the kids…..A fund raising home run derby by local perp softball stars is tomorrow at 11 am at 7th Avenue Park, all to benefit RAL coach Jennifer Godinho in her battle with cancer. Her Jills host Ridgefield today while Mark Morris is at Hockinson…..In perp baseball today, W.F. West is at Kelso, Hockinson at RAL and MM at Woodland…..Kelso and Prairie battled to a 1-1 tie in boys soccer. Today, Washougal is at MM (5 pm) and RAL at Hockinson (7 pm).

On a night where the Warriors set the record for wins with 73 and Kobe Bryant closed his career with a 60 point night, the Blazers captured the #5 playoff seed with a 107-99 victory over Denver. Portland will play the Clippers in the opening round…..Dae Ho-Lee hit a 10th inning pinch hit homer to give the Mariners a 4-2 win over Texas. The M’s play the Yankees in the Bronx tomorrow…..Columbia River beat Kelso 10-0 in prep baseball yesterday. R.A. Long pounded Woodland 12-1 and Mark Morris blasted Hockinson 11-1…..In softball, R.A. Long defeated Woodland 12-0. Today, Kelso hosts River at 4 pm…..RAL defeated Woodland 3-1 in boys soccer. Tonight, Kelso visits Prairie at 7:30 pm…..Kelso’s Slate Miller gets his first Division One hit in the Huskies 12-4 baseball win over Seattle U.

The Mariners are 0-5 at home after an 8-0 loss to Texas last night. The M’s and Rangers play a day game today, KLOG 11:30 am…..LCC rallied from down 5-1 to beat Clark 8-7 in college softball. The second game of the twin bill was rained out…..In prep softball, Prairie beat Kelso 10-2. Today. R.A. Long is at Woodland…..Kelso was leading Columbia River 3-2 in the 3rd inning when the skies opened up. The game was suspended. Kelso is slated to plat at River today. Also, Hockinson is at Mark Morris and RAL at Woodland, weather permitting…..The Kelso boys soccer team blanked Fort 3-0 last night. RAL is at Woodland tonight at 7 pm…..The Trail Blazers close out the regular season with a home game with Denver, KLOG 6:05 pm. Portland clinches the #5 seed with a victory.

Kelso hosts Fort Vancouver tonight at 7 pm…..In prep baseball, MM blasted Hudson’s Bay 16-8. Today, Kelso is at home against Columbia River at 4 pm…..The LCC softball team sits alone in first place and they are at home against Clark today at Tam O’Shanter Park. The DH starts at 3 pm…..In prep softball, Kelso is at Prairie and Castle Rock visits MM, both at 4 pm…..In track today, Kelso is at Centralia and Hockinson is at MM…..Girls tennis today includes Washougal at RAL and Ridgefield at MM.

The Mariners bullpen gave up solo homers in the 8th and 10th innings in a 2-1 loss to the Oakland A’s yesterday. It spoiled another great outing for Felix Hernandez who pitched seven shutout innings and struck out 10. The M’s host the Texas Rangers tonight, KLOG 6:00 pm…..Alex Torson got the win as the LCC baseball team pitched a combined 1-hitter in an 8-0 romp over Grays Harbor……The LCC softball team swept SW Oregon in Coos Bay Saturday to stay unbeaten in league…..The Mark Morris baseball team plays at Hudson’s Bay this afternoon…..In soccer, the Timbers and Galaxy tied 1-1 and the Sounders and Dynamo tied 1-1…..In boys Civil War soccer tonight, Mark Morris and R.A. Long meet in a 6 pm battle at Longview Memorial Stadium.

The Seattle Mariners open their home season this evening when they welcome the Oakland A’s for a three-game set. Seattle is coming off of a season-opening series win in Texas, and will look to continue with their strong performance. Taijuan Walker starts for Seattle tonight, KLOG coverage starts at 6 pm…..The Portland Trail Blazers have another night off after clinching a playoff spot earlier this week. They will be hosting the Minnesota Timberwolves tomorrow night…..In local baseball, Hockinson is at Kelso today, Castle Rock is at Tenino and Woodland is at Kalama. Neah-kah-nie comes in to play Clatskanie in softball…..Winlock native and three-time state champ Rachel Archer is competing in U. S. Olympics Wrestling Trials this weekend in Iowa City IA.

It got kind of heated toward the end, but the M’s even the season at 1-1 with a 10-2 win over the Texas Rangers. Seattle broke it open in the 8th, ending up with four HR’s in the game. It also included a shouting match between the managers, after former M Tom Wilhelmsen plunked a Seattle hitter. The series wraps up with a day game, KLOG coverage at 10 am…..The Trailblazers beat Sacramento 115-107 last night, keeping the 6th playoff spot in the NBA Western Conference. The Blazers host the Oklahoma Thunder tonight at the Moda Center…..Rainier got a five-inning 10-1 win over Gervais in baseball yesterday. In local sports today, LCC Baseball is at Centralia, LCC softball travels to Clackamas, Clatskanie travels to Taft for baseball, and Rainier track heads to Oregon Episcopal.

Excellent seasons for the Oregon State and Washington women’s basketball seasons came to inglorious ends yesterday, as both teams got smoked in their NCAA Final Four games. OSU became another number in UConn’s march to a record fourth consecutive championship, losing 80-51, while Syracuse ran away from the Huskies, 80-59……The Mariners travel to Texas to open the season, with King Felix making his 8th consecutive Opening Day start, KLOG coverage starts at noon, with the first pitch at 1:05 pm…..The LCC diamond sports teams got league play kicked off over the weekend. The Red Devil baseball team lost to Pierce 4-3 on Saturday, then they bounced back and beat Green River 9-1 yesterday. The Lady Devils swept Highline 9-4 and 9-0 on Saturday.

The Devils dropped two tough ones at Bellevue yesterday 8-7 and 4-3…..In prep softball, MM over Fort 16-9 and Mission Oak California over RAL 3-0. The Kelso softball team hosts Fort today…..Kelso tied W.F. West 1-1 in boys soccer. Tonight, RAL at Bay and MM at Ridgefield.
