The Seahawks lost for the second straight game as the St. Louis Rams held on for a 28-26 win on Sunday. The Hawks outgained the Rams 463 to 272, but special team gaffes led to the Hawks slipping to 3-3 on the season heading into a game at Carolina on Sunday. In case you missed it Friday, the Seahawks traded disruptive Percy Harvin to the Jets after reports of altercations with teammates…..The World Series gets underway tomorrow night as the Royals host the Giants in the first two games…..It’s a Pink Out tonight as the Kelso volleyball team hosts Black Hills at 7 pm and tries to raise funds and awareness against cancer. R.A. Long is at home against Woodland in a big GSHL 2A showdown tonight…..The Sounders rallied to tie the L.A. Galaxy 2-2 in MLS soccer last night.

Woodland defeated R.,A. Long 35-14 in prep football last night. The rest of the action is tonight including Kelso at Black Hills (101.5 FM The Wave) and Hudson’s Bay at Mark Morris (105.5 FM KUKN)…..Utah outlasted Oregon State 29-23 in 2 OT’s last night in college football. Tomorrow, the Huskies visit the Ducks, KLOG 4:00 pm…..The Seahawks are in St. Louis Sunday morning…..In prep volleyball, Centralia beat Kelso 3-2, Mark Morris over Hockinson 3-1 and Kalama took care of Castle Rock 3-0…..In girls soccer, Kelso blasted Centralia 10-0, Woodland blanked RAL 2-0 and Hockinson shutout MM 3-0…..RAL edged MM 172-174 in Civil War golf yesterday…..The Blazers host Israel’s Maccabi Haifa tonight, KLOG 6:00 pm.

The KC Royals won the AL pennant with a 2-1 win over the Orioles last night. The Giants beat the Cardinals 6-4 and can clinch a meeting with the Royals with a win today, KLOG 4:00 pm…..A big prep football showdown tonight as R.A. Long hosts Woodland in a 7 pm kickoff at Longview Memorial Stadium…..In college ball, Oregon State hosts Utah tonight…..In college volleyball, Tacoma defeated LCC 3-0…..In prep v-ball tonight, Kelso is at Centralia and MM is at home against Hockinson…..The LCC soccer team dropped a 7-0 game to Peninsula yesterday…..In prep soccer today, Woodland is at R.A. Long (4 pm), Hockinson at MM (4:30 pm) and Centralia at Kelso (4 pm)…..Civil War golf today as RAL and MM tangle in a 3:30 pm match at the Longview Country Club.

The Royals beat the Orioles 2-1 and the Giants downed the Cardinals 5-4 in 10 innings. KC can advance with a win today, KLOG 12:00 pm. The Giants lead 2-1 going into today’s game, KLOG 4:00 pm…..Columbia River scored five straight goals to beat Kelso 5-2 in soccer last night. Also, Mark Morris blasted Hudson’s Bay 8-0 and Ridgefield shutout R.A. Long 4-0…..The LCC soccer team hosts Peninsula in a 4 pm game at Northlake Field…..In volleyball last night, River defeated Kelso 3-0, MM over Bay 3-0 and Ridgefield rallied to beat RAL 3-2…..The LCC volleyball team is at Tacoma tonight at 7 pm…..Blaine Gilmore of Kelso lost a playoff for the final berth to State after an 83 at the 3A District golf tourney at Tri-Mountain. Gilmore finished tied for 8th. Damon Temanson was 16th.

Dylan Olsen of Kelso won the Sports Car Club of America National Runoff title at Laguna Seca raceway last weekend. It was Olsen’s first attempt at the American Sedan title and he came away with the title…..Game three of the ALCS was rained out last night. The Royals and Orioles will try again today, KLOG 4:00 pm. First up, the NLCS resumes today with the Giants hosting the Orioles, KLOG 12:00 pm…..The Seahawks are preparing for Sunday’s game at St. Louis. The Rams slipped to 1-4 after a 31-17 loss to the 49’ers last night…..Day two of the GSHL 3A District golf tourney is today. Kelso’s Blaine Gilmore (78, 6th) and Damon Temanson (86, 16th) both made the cut after yesterday’s round one…..In boys tennis yesterday, Washougal beat RAL 5-1 and Hudson’s Bay beat MM 4-2.

The Dallas Cowboys came to Seattle and manhandled the Seahawks 30-23. DeMarco Murray rushed for 115 yards and the Cowboys defense kept an ineffective Seahawks offense at bay. The 3-2 Hawks are at St. Louis next Sunday…..Kolten Wong hit a walk-off homer in the 9th to give the Cardinals a 5-4 win over the Giants, tying he NLCS at a game apiece. The Royals lead the Orioles 2-0 as game three is tonight at Kansas City, KLOG 4:00 pm…..Wesley Matthews scored 22 to lead the Blazers to a 119-114 NBA pre-season win over the Clippers…..Jesse Ehrlich and Matt Hartley combined for a two-day total of 131 to win the low gross title at the Bud Clary Subaru 2-man best ball tourney at the Longview Country Club. Gene Thomas and Mike Bauman took the low-net title with a 119.

With the win, the Timbers move into the final playoff position with two matches left…..The LCC women’s soccer team snapped an 1`1 game losing streak with a 5-0 win over Grays Harbor. Ali Rose had two goals and two assists to lead the way…..In prep soccer today, Kelso is at Prairie and R.A. Long hosts Washougal…..The LCC volleyball team also snapped an 11 match skid with a 3-0 win at Grays Harbor last night…..In prep volleyball tonight, Kelso is at home against Prairie and Washougal is at R.A. Long…..The MM tennis team defeated Washougal 5-1 yesterday. The Monarchs are at R.A. Long today…..The RAL cross country team hosts Hudson’s Bay, Naselle and Three Rivers in a 4 pm meet at Lake Sacajawea.

The Giants beat the Nationals 3-2 and the Cardinals shocked the Dodgers 3-2 setting up the NLCS on Saturday. San Francisco is at St. Louis for game one…..The Utah Jazz beat the Portland Trail Blazers 92-73 in the NBA pre-season opener last night. The teams will meet again in Portland tomorrow night, KLOG 6:05 pm…..The Kelso women’s soccer team opened league play with an 8-0 romp over Fort Vancouver. Mark Morris defeated Washougal 3-1…..The LCC women’s soccer team hosts Grays Harbor in a 4 pm match at Northlake Field today…..The LCC volleyball team is at Grays Harbor tonight at 7 pm…..The Kelso volleyball team opened league play with a 3-0 win at Fort. MM beat Washougal 3-0…..The River cross country teams swept Kelso yesterday.

Russell Wilson ran for 122 yards and a TD and threw for two others as the Seahawks beat Washington 27-17 in Monday Night Football last night. The Hawks were far from sharp as they had 13 penalties. The Hawks host the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday…..The NL Division Series continue today after the Nationals beat the Giants 4-1 and the Cardinals downed the Dodgers 3-1. SF and Washington play first, KLOG 1:30 pm. The Cards and Dodgers play at second, KLOG 5:30 pm…..The Mark Morris tennis team beat Hudson’s Bay 4-2 to run the season record to 8-1. R.A. Long won the tiebreaker to beat Washougal after a 3-3 score…..The Kelso cross country teams host Columbia River today at 3:30 pm……In volleyball tonight, Kelso is at Fort and MM visits Washougal…..The Blazers open Pre-season action tonight at Utah.
