Russell Wilson hit Luke Willson with a 23-yard TD pass with :47 left to give the Seahawks a 13-9 win at Carolina. The Hawks snapped a two game losing streak and now prepare to host the Oakland Raiders on Sunday…..Madison Bumgarner tossed a four-hit shutout to lead the Giants to a 5-0 win over the Royals. SF has a 3-2 lead in the World Series as they head back to KC for game six tomorrow…..In prep volleyball tonight, Toutle Lake is at Adna and Wahkiakum visits Onalaska…..R.A. Long has a chance to get at least a share of the GSHL 2A title if they can beat Hockinson Friday night. Kelso will host Columbia River for the 3A GSHL title Friday night. Mark Morris will close its season Friday at Washougal. Kalama is at Castle Rock with a playoff berth on the line.

Long took the Civil War volleyball match 3-0 last night. Also, Kelso defeated Fort 3-0…..The girls soccer Civil War went to MM over RAL 2-0. Kelso pummeled Fort 7-0…..Aaron Brumbaugh took first and led the Monarchs to the 2A District cross country title…..Woodland captured the 2A boys golf District at Mint Valley…..Mint Valley Racquet Complex hosts the 2A District boys tennis tourney today and tomorrow…..The Oregon Ducks take on Cal tonight in Santa Clara. The Huskies host ASU tomorrow night (101.5 FM The Wave)…..Game three of the World Series tonight, KLOG 4:00 pm.

The World Series is tied at 1-1 after the Kansas City Royals beat the San Francisco Giants 7-2 last night. Game three is Friday in SF…..The rain kept the players form going low in the first round of the 2A District golf tourney at Mint Valley. Tyler Messenger of R.A. Long was the top local with a 78, good for second place. The final round is today…..Both Kelso cross country teams advanced in the 3A District meet yesterday. The Kelso boys took 2nd, the Lassies took 3rd. The 2A District meet is today at Hockinson…..Green River outlasted LCC 3-2 in volleyball last night…..Mark Morris hosts R.A. Long in a pair of Civil War contests today. The Jills and Monarchs meet in soccer at 4 pm at Northlake, while the volleyball teams tangle at the MM Gym at 7 pm.

It’s going to be wet for the District cross country and boys golf events today. The Kelso teams will take part in the 3A District cross country meet at Lewisville Park. Mint Valley hosts the two-day 2A boys golf District starting today including R.A. Long and Mark Morris…..The LCC volleyball team hosts Green River tonight at 7 pm at MM…..RAL defeated Hudson’s Bay 3-0 in prep volleyball. Ridgefield defeated MM 3-1…..The LCC women’s soccer team dropped a 3-2 game at the Linfield JV’s yesterday…..In prep soccer, Kelso and Black Hills tied 3-3, RAL shutout Bay 2-0 and Ridgefield blanked MM 2-0…..The Giants got a great pitching performance from Madison Bumgarner in a 7-1 win over the Royals in game one of the World Series. Game two is tonight, KLOG 4:00 pm.

The R.A. Long Lumberjills came up with a big win over Woodland 3-1 in prep volleyball last night. Natalie Wallace led the way with 17 kills. Both teams are 6-3 in league play. Also last night, Kelso defeated Black Hills 3-0. Tonight, RAL travels to Bay and Mark Morris is at Ridgefield…..In girls soccer today, Kelso is at Black Hills (5 pm), R.A. Long is at Hudson’s Bay (5 pm), Mark Morris at Ridgefield (7 pm) and Kalama visits Castle Rock (6 pm)…..Kelso, Mark Morris and R.A. Long get together for a girls swim meet today, 5 pm at Dick Mealy Memorial Pool at MM…..The World Series gets underway later today as the Kansas City Royals take on the San Francisco Giants, KLOG 4:00 pm. Madison Bumgarner starts opposite James Shields.

The Seahawks lost for the second straight game as the St. Louis Rams held on for a 28-26 win on Sunday. The Hawks outgained the Rams 463 to 272, but special team gaffes led to the Hawks slipping to 3-3 on the season heading into a game at Carolina on Sunday. In case you missed it Friday, the Seahawks traded disruptive Percy Harvin to the Jets after reports of altercations with teammates…..The World Series gets underway tomorrow night as the Royals host the Giants in the first two games…..It’s a Pink Out tonight as the Kelso volleyball team hosts Black Hills at 7 pm and tries to raise funds and awareness against cancer. R.A. Long is at home against Woodland in a big GSHL 2A showdown tonight…..The Sounders rallied to tie the L.A. Galaxy 2-2 in MLS soccer last night.

The rest of the action is tonight including Kelso at Black Hills (101.5 FM The Wave) and Hudson’s Bay at Mark Morris (105.5 FM KUKN)…..Utah outlasted Oregon State 29-23 in 2 OT’s last night in college football. Tomorrow, the Huskies visit the Ducks, KLOG 4:00 pm…..The Seahawks are in St. Louis Sunday morning…..In prep volleyball, Centralia beat Kelso 3-2, Mark Morris over Hockinson 3-1 and Kalama took care of Castle Rock 3-0…..In girls soccer, Kelso blasted Centralia 10-0, Woodland blanked RAL 2-0 and Hockinson shutout MM 3-0…..RAL edged MM 172-174 in Civil War golf yesterday…..The Blazers host Israel’s Maccabi Haifa tonight, KLOG 6:00 pm.

Long hosts Woodland in a 7 pm kickoff at Longview Memorial Stadium…..In college ball, Oregon State hosts Utah tonight…..In college volleyball, Tacoma defeated LCC 3-0…..In prep v-ball tonight, Kelso is at Centralia and MM is at home against Hockinson…..The LCC soccer team dropped a 7-0 game to Peninsula yesterday…..In prep soccer today, Woodland is at R.A. Long (4 pm), Hockinson at MM (4:30 pm) and Centralia at Kelso (4 pm)…..Civil War golf today as RAL and MM tangle in a 3:30 pm match at the Longview Country Club.

The Giants lead 2-1 going into today’s game, KLOG 4:00 pm…..Columbia River scored five straight goals to beat Kelso 5-2 in soccer last night. Also, Mark Morris blasted Hudson’s Bay 8-0 and Ridgefield shutout R.A. Long 4-0…..The LCC soccer team hosts Peninsula in a 4 pm game at Northlake Field…..In volleyball last night, River defeated Kelso 3-0, MM over Bay 3-0 and Ridgefield rallied to beat RAL 3-2…..The LCC volleyball team is at Tacoma tonight at 7 pm…..Blaine Gilmore of Kelso lost a playoff for the final berth to State after an 83 at the 3A District golf tourney at Tri-Mountain. Gilmore finished tied for 8th. Damon Temanson was 16th.
