Kelso can clinch a 3A GSHL playoff berth with a win at Fort Vancouver this afternoon, kickoff 5 pm. Pre-game coverage and play by play on FM 101.5 The Wave at 4 pm. Also tonight at 7 pm, Prairie at Mark Morris (105.5 FM KUKN) and R.A. Long at Ridgefield…..Arizona upset #2 Oregon 31-24 at Autzen Stadium last night. The Huskies have a bye this weekend while WSU hosts Cal tomorrow night…..The LCC volleyball team is at Highline tonight…..In prep volleyball, Kelso beat Chehalis 3-2, Woodland over MM 3-0 and R.A. Long edged Hockinson 3-2…..The LCC soccer team hosts Highline at 4 pm today and Bellevue at 12 pm Saturday, both at Northlake Field…..In prep soccer, Kelso beat Chehalis 3-2, MM shutout Woodland 2-0 and Hockinson over RAL 5-0.

The San Francisco Giants beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 8-0 in the NL Wild Card game last night. The Giants move on to play the Nationals. Today, the ALDS begin with the Tigers against the Orioles and the Royals versus the Angels, both on KLOG beginning at 2:00 pm…..Clark defeated Lower Columbia 3-0 in college volleyball last night…..In prep volleyball tonight, W.F. West visits Kelso, Woodland is at Mark Morris and R.A. Long visits Hockinson, all at 7 pm…..In girls soccer, Kelso is at W.F. West, Woodland plays MM in a 5 pm match at Northlake and R.A. Long is at Hockinson at 6:30 pm…..In boys tennis, MM defeated Washougal 5-1 and Hudson’s Bay beat RAL 6-0. The Jacks host Washougal this afternoon…..The Oregon Ducks host Arizona tonight in Pac-12 football.

The Kansas City Royals scored two runs in the bottom of the 12th inning to beat the Oakland A’s 9-8 in the AL Wild Card game. The Royals advance to play the Angels in the ALDS. The Giants visit the Pirates in tonight’s NL Wild Card game, KLOG 4:30 pm…..R.A. Long defeated Mark Morris 3-1 in the Civil War volleyball matchup last night. Also, Tumwater defeated Kelso 3-0…..In Civil War girls soccer, Maddie Early scored in the second OT as MM outlasted RAL 2-1…..The LCC volleyball team hosts Clark in a league matchup tonight at the Mark Morris Gym, 7 pm…..Jeremy Aldrich and Kara Wood both finished first in Kelso’s cross country wins at Fort Vancouver yesterday…..In boys golf, MM beat Bay 177-183, Hockinson over Kelso 164-175 and Woodland beat RAL 155-171.

The MLB Postseason gets underway today as the Oakland A’s take on the Royals in Kansas City, KLOG 4:30 pm. The Giants are at the Pirates in the NL Wild Card game tomorrow…..The volleyball Civil War is tonight as R.A. Long hosts Mark Morris at 7 pm. Kelso is also at Tumwater tonight…..In girls soccer Civil War action, RAL hosts MM in a 6 pm matchup at Longview Memorial Stadium. Also in soccer, Kelso hosts Tumwater at 4 pm…..Prairie beat RAL 160-167 in boys golf at Mint Valley. Tyler Messinger was the medalist with a 35. Today the Jacks take on Woodland at Lewis River, MM is at Bay and Kelso visits Hockinson…..The Kelso cross country teams run against Fort Vancouver at David Douglas Park this afternoon at 4 pm..

The Mariners season ended with a win, but the team fell just a game short of the playoffs. Felix Hernandez got the win in a 4-1 victory over the Angels, but Oakland took the Wild Card with a 4-0 win over Texas. With five shutout innings, Hernandez won the ERA crown in the AL…..The Seahawks had yesterday off. The Hawks have a week to prepare for Washington for a Monday Night Football matchup. The 49’ers got a key victory yesterday, defeating Philadelphia 27-21…..In boys soccer today, weather permitting, R.A. Long is at Washougal and Mark Morris visits Hudson’s Bay…..Vancouver’s Greg Biflle was eliminated from the NASCAR Chase for the Spring Cup championship yesterday. 12 drivers are left after Jeff Gordon’s win at Dover yesterday.

The M’s are two games behind Oakland with three games to play including tonight at home against the Angels, KLOG 6:00 pm…..High School football week #4 is tonight as Kelso is at Centralia (FM 101.5 The Wave), Mark Morris at Hockinson (FM 105.5 KUKN) and Washougal at R.A. Long…..The Huskies open Pac-12 play tomorrow hosting Stanford, KLOG 12:00 pm. WSU is at Utah and OSU visits USC…..The Seahawks have the bye this weekend…..The LCC volleyball team hosts Pierce in a 7 pm match tonight at MM…..Ridgefield rallied from down 0-2 to beat Mark Morris 3-2 in prep volleyball. RAL took care of Bay 3-0…..In girls soccer, RAL beat Bay 1-0 and Ridgefield scored late to beat MM 1-0.

Mark Buerhle and the Blue Jays shut out Tajuan Walker and the Mariners 1-0 last night. The M’s have lost five straight as they play their final road game of the season today in Toronto, KLOG 12:00 pm…..Kelso’s Trevor May will have his final start of the season for the Twins tonight against the Tigers…..The injury depleted LCC women’s soccer team lost 12-0 at Peninsula yesterday…..The LCC volleyball team was also without some injured players as they lost at Green River 3-0 last night…..In prep volleyball tonight, Hudson’s Bay visits R.A. Long and Mark Morris hosts Ridgefield…..In girls prep soccer, Ridgefield and MM play in a 5 pm match at Northlake Field and RAL takes on Bay in a 6 pm game at Longview Memorial…..Pac-12 football tonight, UCLA at Arizona State, KLOG 6:00 pm.

Also, Mark Morris outlasted Hockinson 3-2 and Kalama swept Castle Rock 3-0…..The LCC volleyball team opens league play tonight at Green River…..The LCC soccer team plays a 2 pm match at Peninsula today…..In prep girls soccer, Kelso stayed unbeaten with a 2-1 win over Tumwater. Woodland beat RAL 8-1…..In boys golf, Kelso, MM and Woodland are playing in the rain at the Prairie Invite at The Cedars course.

The Mariners playoffs hopes are slipping away. The Toronto Blue Jays pounded the M’s 14-4 yesterday as James Paxton suffered his worst career start. The M’s are two games out of the playoffs with six games left including today at Toronto, KLOG 3:00 pm. Felix Hernandez will pitch for Seattle against former Mariner R.A. Dickey…..The Mark Morris boys tennis team blanked Centralia 5-0 yesterday. Centralia hosts the R.A. Long today…..In boys golf, MM defeated Centralia 165-168 and Prairie downed Kelso 171-179…..The Longview schools travel in volleyball tonight as RAL is at Woodland and MM is at Hockinson. Also, Kalama is at Castle Rock…..In girls soccer, Mark Morris is at Hockinson at 7 pm while R.A. Long visits Woodland at 5 pm.
