The Blazers take on the Nets in Brooklyn today, KLOG 3:35 pm…..Arizona beat Washington 99-67 in Pac-12 play. BYU upset Gonzaga 69-8 in Spokane for the second straight season…..The LCC hoop teams host Green River Saturday with the women at 5 pm and the men at 7 pm…..It’s Civil War time! The girls and boys battles are both at MM with the Jills and Monarchs at 6 pm and the Jacks and Kings at 7:30 pm, both on FM 101.5 The Wave. Also tonight, the Kelso boys host Prairie. Last night Prairie beat the Kelso girls 68-38…..Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch and TE Luke Willson were both at practice yesterday as we get closer to Sunday’s playoff game at Carolina…..Tryouts for the LC Legion baseball A team will be Monday at 5:30 in the LCC Batting Barn.

Damian Lillard had 21 points and 10 assists to lead the Trail Blazers over Utah 99-85 last night…..Lawrence Russell had 30 points in LCC’s 79-75 victory over Tacoma. Seven LCC women players scored in double figures as the Devils beat Tacoma 93-62. Both LCC teams are 2-0 in league as they get ready to host Green River Saturday…..Kelso beat Fort Vancouver 58-47 in boys prep hoops. Riley Noah had 23 for the Scots. Also, R.A. Long edged Woodland 36-34 and Mark Morris beat Washougal 67-42. MM hosts RAL in Civil War play tomorrow night…..In girls play, MM beat Washougal 56-54 and Woodland turned away RAL 67-28. Tonight, the Kelso Lassies host Prairie, KLOG 6:55 pm.

The Blazers host the Utah Jazz tonight, KLOG 6:05 pm…..It’s the league home opener for the LCC Red Devils tonight as they host Tacoma, women at 6 pm and the men at 8 pm…..The Kelso wrestling team dominated Columbia River 72-6 last night…..The Kelso Lassies won their league opener last night defeating Fort Vancouver 39-27. Tonight in girls hoops, Woodland is at R.A. Long and Washougal at Mark Morris…..In boys basketball tonight, Kelso hosts Fort, RAL at Woodland and MM at Washougal (FM 101.5 The Wave 6:45 pm)…..Although not set in stone yet, it appears that Columbia River will be leaving the GSHL 3A league to join the GSHL 2A next season. Kalama is also set to drop to 2B and join the Central 2B league.

Alabama wins a 4th college football championship in seven years with a 45-40 victory over Clemson last night…..Seahawks coach Pete Carroll is taking a much more cautious approach when talking about the possibility that Marshawn Lynch could be available to play against the Panthers on Sunday. TE Luke Willson is expected to be cleared after a concussion…..Riley Noah scored 25 points to lead Kelso over Heritage 57-47 last night. R.A. Long came up with a 50-41 win over Ridgefield…..In girls play, Kelso beat Heritage 52-34 as Ally Harman had 18. Ridgefield beat the RAL Jills 52-44. Tonight, Kelso travels to Fort Vancouver, KLOG 6:55 pm…..The Kelso wrestling team hosts Columbia River at 7 pm tonight.

The Seahawks move on to the next round of the NFL Playoffs after Vikings kicker Blair Walsh missed a 27-year FG with :26 seconds left. The Hawks win it 10-9. Seattle plays at Carolina next Sunday at 10:05 am…..The college football national championship is tonight as Clemson takes on Alabama, KLOG 4:00 pm…..Damian Lillard scored 31 points and hit five three-pointers in the last three minutes as Portland rallied to beat Oklahoma City 115-110…..In boys prep hoops tonight, Kelso is at Heritage and R.A. Long hosts Ridgefield…..In girls basketball, Kelso is at home against Heritage and RAL is at Ridgefield…..Both LCC basketball teams won at Pierce Saturday night. The Devils will host Tacoma Wednesday night with the women at 6 pm and the men at 8 pm.

The Golden State Warriors are in Portland tonight as the Blazers try and upset the top team in the NBA, KLOG 6:05 pm…..Tumwater defeated Kelso 68-57 in boys hoops last night. Also, Mark Morris took care of Ridgefield 58-49 and Hudson’s Bay held off R.A. Long 66-64…..In girls hoops tonight, Kelso is at Tumwater, Hudson’s Bay at R.A. Long and MM is at Ridgefield (FM 101.5 The Wave 6:45 pm)…..The LCC basketball teams open West Region play Saturday at Pierce. The women are at 5 pm and the men play at 7 pm, both on KLOG…..The Kelso girls wrestling tournament gets underway this afternoon at 5 pm…..The Seahawks and Vikings expect sub-zero wind chill for Sunday’s playoff game. The kickoff is 10:05 am Sunday.

Ken Griffey Junior got the call yesterday that he will be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame Sunday July 24th in Cooperstown. Junior was elected on a record 99.3 percent of the vote. He’ll be joined by catcher Mike Piazza…..C.J. McCollum couldn’t play because his name was mistakenly left off the active roster list. The Clippers beat the Blazers 109-98…..An R.A. Long rally fell short as Washougal beat the Jacks 57-55 last night. RAL is at Hudson’s Bay tonight. Kelso hosts Tumwater, KLOG 6:55 pm and Ridgefield is at Mark Morris, FM 101.5 6:45 pm…..In girls play, Washougal defeated RAL 77-38……RAL beat MM 54-29 in wrestling last night. The Jacks also downed Hockinson 51-20. MM beat Bay 47-33…..The Kelso girls bowling team beat MM 1,816-1,756.

Clippers, KLOG 6:05 pm…..The LCC men’s basketball team closed out the non-region schedule with an 83-54 victory over the Pacific JV’s last night. Both LCC teams will open league at Pierce on Saturday…..Jared Bowlby had 34 points to lead the Kelso boys over W.F. West 67-58 last night. Garret Berger scored 19 to lead Mark Morris over Hockinson 72-61. R.A. Long’s game at Washougal was postponed and they will try again tonight…..In girls play, W.F. West beat the Kelso Lassies 66-30 and Mark Morris downed Hockinson 48-44. The Washougal at RAL girls game was postponed and they too will try again tonight…..In wrestling tonight, MM hosts RAL, Hudson’s Bay and Hockinson at 6 pm.

West (KLOG 6:55 pm), Mark Morris is at Hockinson (FM 101.5 The Wave 7:15 pm) and R.A. Long is at Washougal…..In girls basketball tonight, Kelso hosts W.F. West, Hockinson is at Mark Morris and Washougal visits R.A. Long…..Marshawn Lynch made his return to Seahawks practice yesterday and head coach Pete Carroll says he’s confident he will be effective for Sunday’s playoff at Minnesota.

The Seahawks closed the regular season with a dominating 36-6 win over Arizona yesterday. The Hawks take the #6 seed and will travel to Minnesota for a wild card playoff with the Vikings Sunday morning at 10:05 am…..C.J. McCollum scored 25 points to lead the Portland Trail Blazers to a 112-106 win over the Denver Nuggets. The Blazers have won four out of five as they get ready to host the Memphis Grizzlies tonight, KLOG 6:05 pm…..The Huskies rallied from 18 down to beat USC 87-85 in Pac-12 men’s basketball action yesterday. The WSU Cougars beat UCLA 85-78, the Cougars third straight win over the Bruins in Pullman. Oregon State beat Oregon 70-57…..Kelso Youth Wrestling signups are today and Thursday from 5:30 pm to 7 pm at the KHS wrestling room.
