The Blazers are 1-2 while the Cavs are 1-1…..The Colts smacked the Giants 40-23 in Monday Night Football last night. The Giants drop to 3-5 as they come to Seattle on Sunday…..The Mark Morris girls soccer team plays in the 2A District semi-final match at Ridgefield tonight. First kick is 7 pm…..The Three rivers Christian volleyball team has a 1B District home match tonight at 7 pm…..The Mariners claimed Carlos Rivero off waivers from the Boston Red Sox. The nine year minor leaguer made his MLB debut in September…..The MLB Players Choice Awards went to Felix Hernandez as AL Most Outstanding Pitcher and Chris Young as AL Comeback Player of Year.

The Seahawks are still injured and inconsistent, but they pulled out a 30-24 win over the winless Oakland Raiders yesterday. Marshawn Lynch had two touchdowns and Bruce Irvin had a tipped interception touchdown. The Hawks host the New York Giants on Sunday…..Klay Thompson had 29 points and the game winning basket as Golden State beat Portland 95-90 last night. The 1-2 Blazers host LeBron James and the Cavaliers tomorrow night…..The Kelso Hilanders will take on O’Dea in the first round of the 3A football playoffs. The game is a 5 pm kickoff Friday at Seattle Memorial Stadium. R.A. Long has a tough one Friday night when they play Tumwater at their home field Friday night at 7 pm…..The Sounders and FC Dallas tied 1-1 in the first of a two-game MLS playoff.

The prep football regular season concludes tonight. Kelso hosts Columbia River for the GSHL 3A title (FM101.5 The Wave), R.A. Long can possibly get a share of the league title with a home win against Hockinson and Mark Morris closes the season at Washougal (FM 105.5 KUKN). Big Trico showdown tonight as Kalama is at Castle Rock with a playoff berth on the line…..The Huskies are at Colorado tomorrow morning, KLOG 9:00 am. WSU hosts USC…..The Seahawks host the Raiders Sunday and Walter Jones will be put in the Ring of Honor…..In prep volleyball, River beat Kelso 3-0 and MM downed Washougal 3-0…..Kelso’s soccer season ended with a 4-0 loss to River…..The Portland Trail Blazers are at Sacramento tonight, KLOG 6:05 pm.

The San Francisco Giants won the World Series for the third time in five years after a 3-2 victory over Kansas City last night. Series MVP Madison Bumgarner pitched five innings of shutout relief…..The Blazers won the home opener for the 14th straight season s they rallied in the 4th quarter to beat Oklahoma City 106-89. LaMarcus Aldridge scored 27 to lead Portland…..In volleyball tonight, Columbia River is at Kelso and Washougal is at Mark Morris…..Last night Clark beat the LCC volleyball team 3-0…..Bellevue shutout the LCC soccer team 8-0 yesterday…..In prep girls soccer today, Kelso is at Columbia River (4pm)…..There are some Thursday night high school football games tonight as Wahkiakum visits Toledo, Toutle Lake at Onalaska and Napavine at Winlock.

It comes down to a winner-take-all game seven in the World Series after the Royals blasted the Giants 10-0 last night. The deciding game is in Kansas City, KLOG 4:00 pm…..The Blazers open the season at home tonight against Oklahoma City, 6:35 pm on FM 101.5 The Wave…..Prairie scored the only goal in the opening seconds to beat Kelso 1-0 last night in girls soccer, damaging the Lassies playoff hopes. Mark Morris took the #3 seed into District with a 3-0 win over Washougal…..The LCC soccer team takes on Bellevue in a 1 pm game at the Starfire Complex in Tukwila…..In volleyball, Prairie beat Kelso 3-0, R.A. Long took care of Hockinson 3-2 and Woodland swept MM 3-0…..The LCC volleyball team plays at Clark tonight at 7 pm.

The World Series resumes tonight with game six in Kansas City, KLOG 4:00 pm. The Giants can win the title with a victory, while the Royals hope for a win to force a game seven on Wednesday…..Washington hit a field goal in OT to snap the Cowboys six game winning streak with a 20-17 win in Monday Night Football…..Seahawks coach Peter Carroll says there is nothing to a report about a rift between the team and Marshawn Lynch. The NFL trade deadline is later today…..The NBA season opens tonight with three games on the slate. The Blazers open tomorrow night at home against Oklahoma City…..In prep volleyball tonight, Kelso is at Prairie, Hockinson at R.A. Long and Mark Morris at Woodland…..In girls soccer, Prairie is at Kelso (7pm) and Washougal is at MM (7:00 Longview Memorial Stadium).

Russell Wilson hit Luke Willson with a 23-yard TD pass with :47 left to give the Seahawks a 13-9 win at Carolina. The Hawks snapped a two game losing streak and now prepare to host the Oakland Raiders on Sunday…..Madison Bumgarner tossed a four-hit shutout to lead the Giants to a 5-0 win over the Royals. SF has a 3-2 lead in the World Series as they head back to KC for game six tomorrow…..In prep volleyball tonight, Toutle Lake is at Adna and Wahkiakum visits Onalaska…..R.A. Long has a chance to get at least a share of the GSHL 2A title if they can beat Hockinson Friday night. Kelso will host Columbia River for the 3A GSHL title Friday night. Mark Morris will close its season Friday at Washougal. Kalama is at Castle Rock with a playoff berth on the line.

Week eight of the prep football season includes Heritage at Kelso for Homecoming (101.5 FM The Wave). Mark Morris hosts Ridgefield (105.5 FM KUKN) and R.A. Long is at Hudson’s Bay…..R.A. Long took the Civil War volleyball match 3-0 last night. Also, Kelso defeated Fort 3-0…..The girls soccer Civil War went to MM over RAL 2-0. Kelso pummeled Fort 7-0…..Aaron Brumbaugh took first and led the Monarchs to the 2A District cross country title…..Woodland captured the 2A boys golf District at Mint Valley…..Mint Valley Racquet Complex hosts the 2A District boys tennis tourney today and tomorrow…..The Oregon Ducks take on Cal tonight in Santa Clara. The Huskies host ASU tomorrow night (101.5 FM The Wave)…..Game three of the World Series tonight, KLOG 4:00 pm.

The World Series is tied at 1-1 after the Kansas City Royals beat the San Francisco Giants 7-2 last night. Game three is Friday in SF…..The rain kept the players form going low in the first round of the 2A District golf tourney at Mint Valley. Tyler Messenger of R.A. Long was the top local with a 78, good for second place. The final round is today…..Both Kelso cross country teams advanced in the 3A District meet yesterday. The Kelso boys took 2nd, the Lassies took 3rd. The 2A District meet is today at Hockinson…..Green River outlasted LCC 3-2 in volleyball last night…..Mark Morris hosts R.A. Long in a pair of Civil War contests today. The Jills and Monarchs meet in soccer at 4 pm at Northlake, while the volleyball teams tangle at the MM Gym at 7 pm.

It’s going to be wet for the District cross country and boys golf events today. The Kelso teams will take part in the 3A District cross country meet at Lewisville Park. Mint Valley hosts the two-day 2A boys golf District starting today including R.A. Long and Mark Morris…..The LCC volleyball team hosts Green River tonight at 7 pm at MM…..RAL defeated Hudson’s Bay 3-0 in prep volleyball. Ridgefield defeated MM 3-1…..The LCC women’s soccer team dropped a 3-2 game at the Linfield JV’s yesterday…..In prep soccer, Kelso and Black Hills tied 3-3, RAL shutout Bay 2-0 and Ridgefield blanked MM 2-0…..The Giants got a great pitching performance from Madison Bumgarner in a 7-1 win over the Royals in game one of the World Series. Game two is tonight, KLOG 4:00 pm.
