Gonzaga takes on Syracuse tonight in Chicago (6:40 pm) for a chance to advance…..Washington is at Kentucky this afternoon (4 pm) in the women’s Sweet 16…..JJ Redick hit a 21 foot jumper at the buzzer to give the L.A. Clippers a 96-94 win over the Portland Trail Blazers…..The Mariners beat the Rockies 10-8 yesterday in Arizona. The M’s take on the White Sox today, KLOG 7 pm delayed. Felix Hernandez gets the start…..The LCC baseball team hosts the Edmonds Tritons in a 1 pm DH today at Story Field. The Devils are ranked #2 in the NWAC, the Tritons #3…..Linfield defeated LCC 7-3 in softball yesterday. The Devils play two games at Pierce today at 2 pm.

The M’s play the Rockies today…..In prep baseball, Rainier defeated R.A. Long 10-6 and W.F. West beat Mark Morris 13-6…..The Lower Columbia softball team swept Blue Mountain 16-8 and 10-9 in Pendleton yesterday. The Devils are hoping to host the Linfield JV’s today at 4 pm, weather permitting…..Alonzo Hernandez scored three goals to lead RAL to a 6-0 shutout of Hockinson. MM beat Washougal 3-2 in two OT’s…..In track today, Woodland is at RAL and MM at Ridgefield.

Andrew Walling hit a three run shot in R.A. Long’s 10-6 win over W.F. West. Mark Morris and Tumwater ended in a 2-2 tie stopped due to darkness. RAL hosts Rainier today at 3:30 pm and MM is at W.F. West today at 4:30 pm…..Madison Cathcart hit two homers and got the win in R.A. Long’s 10-3 softball win over Heritage…..The LCC softball team was rained out at Walla Walla yesterday. The Devils play at Blue Mountain today at 12 pm…..In boys soccer today, Washougal at MM (5 pm) and Hockinson at RAL (6 pm).

The Dawgs season ends at 19-15…..The Mariners defeated the Dodgers 6-3 in Spring Training action yesterday. Nelson Cruz and Adam Lind hit back-to-back homers. The M’s have today off in the Cactus League…..The LCC home games today have been rained out…..The LCC softball team plays a double header at Walla Walla today…..Juan Valdivia-Meza’s goal gave Kelso a 1-0 soccer win over Woodland…..In girls golf today, Woodland and River visit Kelso at Three Rivers and RAL hosts Chehalis and Heritage at Mint Valley.

Oregon joins Gonzaga into the Sweet 16 of the NCAA basketball tournament. The Ducks beat St. Joseph’s 69-64 to advance to play Duke. Saturday the Zags blasted Utah to set up a showdown with Syracuse on Friday…..The Huskies are at San Diego State tonight in NIT second round action, KLOG 8:00 pm…..Dallas used overtime to beat Portland 132-120 yesterday. The Blazers will host the Mavericks Wednesday night…..Cleveland beat Seattle 3-1 in Spring Training action Sunday. The M’s take on the Dodgers today, KLOG 1:00 pm…..The LCC baseball team split a four game series at Spokane over the weekend. Yesterday the Devils won 11-10 and lost 8-7. The Devils host Chemeketa at 12 pm and Linn Benton at 5 pm, both tomorrow.

Today, Oregon State takes on VCU and the Oregon Ducks play Holy Cross…..The Spurs are 34-0 at home this season after a 118-110 win over the Blazers. Portland is at New Orleans tonight, KLOG 4:05 pm…..Mark Morris defeated Kelso 8-6 in prep baseball yesterday. R.A. Long is at Clatskanie this afternoon…..Kelso rallied for a nine inning 5-4 softball win over Woodland. R.A. Long beat Camas 12-5. The Jills host Astoria today…..Today’s LCC softball home opener was cancelled by Linfield. The Devils play at a tournament in Salmon Creek this weekend…..The 39th Rotary Relays are tomorrow at Longview Memorial Stadium.

Mark Morris takes on Heritage at Club Green Meadows.

Dejounte Murray scored 30 as the Dawgs will play at San Diego State on Monday…..The top senior high school basketball players got together at LCC last night. In the girls game, the Red beat the White 81-71 as Madi Crews and Sam Woodley were the MVP’s. In the boys game, the White beat the Red 117-114 as Derek Jarrett and Kaleb Poquette were the MVP’s…..The Mariners and Angels ended in a 4-4 tie yesterday. The M’s play the Giants today, KLOG delayed at 7:00 pm…..Prep baseball could be a go today including Tumwater at Mark Morris and R.A. Long at Astoria…..In softball, Kelso is at Heritage…..In boys soccer tonight, Kelso hosts RAL at 7 pm.

Oklahoma City defeated Portland 128-94 last night, the Blazers fifth loss in seven games…..The NIT begins tonight including the Washington Huskies hosting Long Beach State at 6 pm…..The Lower Columbia Area Senior All-Star Games are tonight at LCC. The girls game begins at 6 pm followed by the boys game at 7:45 pm…..The Mariners lost both split squad games yesterday, 6-4 to the Rockies and 8-3 to the Diamondbacks. Seattle plays the Angels today in Tempe…..The George Fox at LCC college baseball games today have been cancelled…..In boys soccer, Mark Morris edged Kelso 2-1 and Heritage got by R.A. Long 2-1…..The Kelso track teams will host Evergreen and Toutle Lake today at 3:30 pm…..The Kelso girls golf team beat MM 218-222. Molly Moroney led Kelso with a 49.

The Oregon Ducks are a #1 seed for the first time in the NCAA basketball tournament. The Ducks will play either Southern or Holy Cross Friday in Spokane. Oregon State is in for the first time in 26 years as the Beavers play VCU Friday in Oklahoma City. The Huskies will settle for the NIT where they will host Long Beach State tomorrow night…..The Spokane men and Lane women won NWAC titles last night. Wenatchee Valley beat the LCC women 74-60 on the final day as the Red Devils took 5th place…..The Reds beat the Mariners 5-3 in Spring Training action on Sunday. Felix Hernandez will pitch for the M’s today against Colorado, KLOG 1:00 pm…..The Trail Blazers are in Oklahoma City for a game with the Thunder tonight, KLOG 4:05 pm.
