Randy Johnson is in, Edgar Martinez is still out. Johnson led a class of four players that will go into the Baseball Hall of Fame this summer. Martinez fell well short of enshrinement…..The Lower Columbia College basketball teams host Highline tonight at the MM Gym, women at 6 pm and the men at 8 pm, both on KLOG…..In girls hoops last night, W.F. West downed Kelso 59-44, Mark Morris blasted Ridgefield 69-28 and R.A. Long over Hudson’s Bay 54-22…..In boys basketball, Kelso defeated W.F. West 63-38, MM over Ridgefield 86-51 and RAL took care of Hudson’s Bay 50-43…..RAL defeated MM 1,966 to 1,665 in the Civil War bowling match yesterday. Elise Yates had a 416 series for the Jills. Also, Fort defeated Kelso 2,017 to 1,929.

Damian Lillard scored 39 points, 16 in the 4th quarter, to lead the Blazers to a 98-94 win over the Los Angeles Lakers…..Grant Gibb led a balanced MM scoring attack with 15 as the Monarchs beat Hockinson 66-43. Tonight, Kelso hosts W.F. West (KLOG 6:55 pm), MM is at Ridgefield and R.A. Long is at home against Hudson’s Bay…..In girls basketball tonight, Kelso is at W.F. West, Ridgefield at MM (101.5 FM The Wave) and RAL travels to Hudson’s Bay…..In Civil War girls bowling, MM and RAL meet in a 3:30 pm match at the Triangle Bowl. Kelso and Fort also roll at the Triangle…..Husky linebacker Shaq Thompson will forgo his senior season to enter the NFL Draft…..Local product Jason Schmidt was on the Hall of Fame ballot for his fine MLB career.

The Seahawks found out their playoff opponent when the Cowboys rallied to beat the Lions 24-20 yesterday. The Seahawks host the Carolina Panthers this Saturday at 5:15 pm. Also yesterday, the Colts beat the Bengals 26-10 to advance in the AFC playoffs against Denver…..The Blazers host the Los Angeles Lakers tonight, KLOG 6:05 pm. The Lakers announced yesterday that Kobe Bryant will not play in order to rest…..Both LCC teams won games at S. Puget Sound Saturday in the league openers. The Devils host Highline Wednesday, women at 6 pm and men at 8 pm…..The Huskies lost to Stanford 68-60 in OT last night,. The WSU Cougs beat Cal 69-66……It’s a “Red Out” tonight as the MM boys host Hockinson at 7 pm in support of Spencer’s Heartstrong Foundation.

The Oregon Ducks beat Florida State 59-20 in the Rose Bowl setting up a national championship matchup with Ohio State. The Buckeyes upset Alabama 42-35 in the Sugar Bowl. The championship game in Dallas will take place Monday January 12th…..The Huskies take on Oklahoma State in the Cactus Bowl tonight, KLOG 7:00 pm…..The UW men’s basketball team opens up Pac-12 play tonight at California…..The LCC basketball teams open West Region play tomorrow at South Puget Sound in Olympia, women at 3 pm and men at 5 pm…..The R.A. Long boys basketball team has a road game at Mountain View tonight at 7 pm…..The Seahawks will learn their first playoff opponent after this weekend’s wild card games.

Kaylea Knox was named All-Tourney…..Mark Morris defeated West Albany 55-42 at the Nike Interstate Shootout. Ashley Coons had 23 for MM. R.A. Long beat Astoria 36-32 at the Astoria tournament yesterday. The Jills play River for the title tonight at 6:15 pm…..Grant Gibb scored 29 points to lead the MM boys over Fort 70-55. Hockinson edged RAL 46-44 in boys play…..The Ducks have one more day to prepare for tomorrow’s Rose Bowl semi-final against Florida State…..The Mariners trade Brandon Maurer to SD for Seth Smith.

The Monarchs take on West Albany at 1 pm today, FM 101.5 The Wave. R.A. Long beat Clatskanie 42-30 at the Astoria tournament. The Jills play tonight at 6:15 pm…..The MM boys host Fort tonight (FM 101.5 The Wave) while RAL is at Hockinson…..In men’s college hoops, Gonzaga held off San Diego 60-48, BYU over Portland 97-88 and Oregon downed UC Irvine 69-67…..The Portland Trail Blazers return to action tonight, hosting the Toronto Raptors, KLOG 6:05 pm.

Portland has the most wins in the NBA…..The Huskies lost for the first time as Stony Brook pulled off a 61-57 upset…..Jamie Ford scored 25 to lead the LCC men to an 85-71 win over the LCC Alumni team…..The LCC women’s team resumes play at the LCC Holiday Classic today. The Devils play Yakima Valley at 2 pm, the second of four games today at the Mark Morris Gym…..The MM girls lost to South Salem 63-40 at the Nike Interstate Shootout. The Monarchs play Clackamas today at 3:30 pm, FM 101.5 The Wave.

The Houston Rockets rode the 44 points of James Harden to a 110-95 win over the Portland Trail Blazers. The Blazers were playing without LaMarcus Aldridge, who was dealing with sickness. Portland takes on the Thunder at Oklahoma City tonight, KLOG 4:05 pm…..The UW Huskies stay unbeaten at 11-0 with a 66-57 win over Tulane last night…..The R.A. Long boys defeated W.F. West 56-51 last night in Chehalis…..Camas got a put-back rebound basket at the buzzer to beat the Kelso Lassies 45-44. Mark Morris defeated Prairie 69-53 as Kourtney Eaton scored 20 and Tayler Teeters had 17 including five 3’s. Tonight, the R.A. Long Lumberjills host Aberdeen and the Castle Rock girls host Fort Vancouver, both at 7 pm.

The Seahawks offense came up with a franchise-record 596 yards in a 35-6 romp over the Arizona Cardinals. Russell Wilson threw for two TD’s and ran for another and Marshawn Lynch had a spectacular 79 yard TD run. The Hawks can clinch the top seed in the NFC with a win over the Rams, as long as the Packers and Lions don’t tie…..The Blazers play at Houston tonight, KLOG 4:05 pm…..The unbeaten UW men’s hoop team takes on Tulane tonight, KLOG after Blazers…..The LCC women beat Wenatchee Valley 71-63 Sunday at the Mt.
