The Portland Trail Blazers look for a third straight victory tonight when they take on the Nuggets in Denver, KLOG 5:05 pm…..The Seattle Mariners are playing an intra-squad game today as they get closer to the spring training opener on Thursday against the Padres. ESPN is reporting the New York Mets are interested in acquiring M’s infielder Nick Franklin. Franklin is the odd man out after the Seattle acquisition of Robinson Cano and Willie Bloomquist…..The LCC baseball team opens the season with a home DH against Clark on Saturday. The Devils will have a night of fun and bowling Thursday night at the Triangle Bowl and the public is invited to come out and meet the team…..David Hajek has been hired as the Washougal HS football coach for the third time.

The WIAA Regional basketball matchups have been released. Among the games, the Mark Morris boys take on Sehome Saturday 4 pm at W.F. West in Chehalis. The Mark Morris girls will play Renton in a 6 pm Friday game at Kent-Meridian HS…..The Portland Trail Blazers rallied from 18 down to beat the Minnesota Timberwolves. Damian Lillard led Portland with 32 points…..The Oregon Ducks beat the WSU Cougars 67-53 on Sunday…..The LCC teams came up with wins at Grays Harbor Saturday. Both LCC teams open the NWAACC tournament in Kennewick next Saturday night. The LCC men play Portland at 8 pm and the LCC women take on Chemeketa at 10 pm…..Fox Sports is reporting that the Seahawks are expected to release DE Red Bryant in a salary cap move.

It’s a District championship doubleheader for Mark Morris tonight as the Monarch girls take on W.F. West at 6 pm followed by the Monarch boys at 8 pm versus Hockinson, both at St. Martins in Lacey…..Last night the Kalama boys advanced to State Regionals with a 49-47 win over King’s Way. The Kalama girls take on Rochester in a 6 pm game at W.F. West…..The Mat Classic state wrestling championships are underway at the Tacoma Dome…..The Boys State Swimming championships are also underway in Federal Way…..In college hoops, BYU upset Gonzaga 73-65 and OSU neat WSU 68-57…..The LCC basketball teams close out the regular season with game at Grays Harbor tomorrow night…..The LCC baseball team opens the season with home games against Centralia tomorrow at 11 am.

Both LCC teams will be going to the NWAACC basketball championships. Last night LCC swept Centralia with the women taking a 66-49 win and the LCC men with a 63-62 victory. LCC will close out the regular season at Grays Harbor Saturday night…..The Oregon Ducks beat the Washington Huskies 78-71 in Pac-12 men’s action last night…..The Spurs beat the Blazers 111-109 despite Damian Lillard’s 31 points. Blazers host the Jazz tomorrow night…..The Kalama girls stayed alive in 1A District play with a 40-27 win over Hoquiam. The Kalama boys will try and do the same tonight when the play King’s Way in Centralia at 6:30 pm…..The Rainier girls downed Warrenton 36-25 to advance to a winner-to-State playoff at Portland Adventist tonight.

Mark Morris will play for the boys 2A District title after a 68-49 win over River Ridge last night. MM will take on Hockinson Friday night at 8 pm at St. Martins. Tumwater defeated R.A. Long 64-56, eliminating the Lumberjacks. Toledo and Elma will meet for the boys 1A District title after wins by both last night. Kalama stayed alive with a win over La Center and Castle Rock was eliminated with a double overtime loss to Hoquiam…..Toutle Lake beat Wahkiakum 60-30 to advance to the girls 2B District title game…..The LCC basketball teams host Centralia tonight in the final home games of the season. The women’s game is at 6 pm and the men’s action at 8 pm…..The Trail Blazers host the San Antonio Spurs tonight, KLOG 6:05 pm. LaMarcus Aldridge will miss the game with a sore groin.

The Mark Morris girls will defend its State 2A title as the Monarchs qualified for State with a 61-36 win over River Ridge. MM takes on WF West for the District title Friday night. The Kelso Lassies were eliminated at the 3A Bi-District with a 53-44 loss to Bonney Lake……In boys play, Three Rivers Christian qualified for State for the first time in school history, defeating Taholah 65-50 yesterday. The Eagles meet Oakville for the District crown Saturday. R.A. Long will try and stay alive when they meet Tumwater in a 6 pm 2A District loser out game at Mark Morris tonight. Mark Morris takes on River Ridge in a 6 pm 2A winners bracket at Kelso tonight…..Both LCC teams came up with wins at Green River last night. The LCC men take over sole possession of the final playoff spot with two games left.

The East beat the West 163-155 in the NBA All Star Game. The Blazers got limited minutes with Damian Lillard scoring nine points and LaMarcus Aldridge four points…..Oregon beat Oregon State 93-83 in the men’s Civil War matchup in Eugene yesterday…..After wins over Tacoma on Saturday, the LCC basketball teams have make up games at Green River today. The women’s game is at 3 pm and the men’s game at 5 pm…..The Kelso Lassies open up 3A Bi-District play today with a matchup against Bonney Lake at Clover Park HS, KLOG 2:40 pm. The Mark Morris girls have a 2A District game with River Ridge at Kelso HS tonight, 6 pm start…..Most of the Seattle Mariners will arrive in Peoria today as the first full squad spring training workout is tomorrow.

R.A. Long defeated Washougal 54-48 to advance to the boys 2A District tournament. The Jacks will play at River Ridge tomorrow night at 7 pm. Mark Morris will host Tumwater at 7 pm Saturday. The boys 1A tournament slate at Kelso tonight features Castle Rock against Woodland followed by Toledo versus Kalama…..Columbia River defeated Kelso 46-39 in girls 3A District play. The Lassies advance to Bi-District at 2:45 pm Monday at Clover Park HS. The Mark Morris girls begin post season defense of their State title with a 7 pm District home game tonight against Centralia…..The boys District swim meets begin today with the 3A at Kelso and the 2A at MM…..The LCC basketball teams host Tacoma in a day double header Saturday at MM. The women at 1 pm and the men at 3 pm.

Mark Morris edged R.A. Long 69-67 in a back-and-forth Civil War last night. Evan Troy’s two free throws with 1.1 seconds left won it. The Monarchs share the league title with the win. The Jacks play a tie-breaker playoff against Washougal tonight, 7 pm at MM. Fort eliminated Kelso 71-64 in the boys 3A District…..The Kelso girls advance to Sub-District with a 54-47 win over Mt. View. The Lassies take on Columbia River tonight, KLOG 5:55 pm. Washougal ended the RAL girls season with a 56-44 win last night…..Pierce swept LCC last night, 56-45 in the women’s game and 84-72 in the men’s game…..In Pac-12 men’s hoops, UW beat Stanford 64-60 and Cal beat WSU 80-76…..The Clippers beat the Blazers 122-117 last night as Portland takes time off for the All-Star break.

Kelso, R.A. Long and Castle Rock all won Sub-Regional wrestling titles yesterday. The girls Sub is today at Ilwaco…..In boys hoops, the Civil War is tonight at MM. Last night Washougal edged RAL 58-59. Kelso defeated Mt. View 72-59. The Scots begin District play tonight against Fort, 6 pm at Hudson’s Bay…..Mark Morris won the girls Civil War 67-24 last night. The Jills need a win at home tonight against Washougal to keep playoff hopes alive. The Kelso girls beat Mt. View 60-40, but lost a coin flip for the #2 seed. The Lassies turn around and play Mt. View again tonight in District play at Bay, KLOG 5:55 pm…..Oklahoma City beat Portland 98-95 last night. The Blazers are at the Clippers tonight, KLOG after Kelso…..The LCC hoop teams are at Pierce tonight, women at 6 pm and men at 8 pm.
